Dr. Cheryl Corsaro serves as the SRO of both the Genetics Health Disease study section (GHD) and the Genetic Variation and Evolution study section (GVE).

After receiving her Ph.D. in human genetics from Johns Hopkins University, Dr. Corsaro had postdoctoral training at several institutions, including the University of Toronto and the California Institute of Technology. She came to the NIH in 1984 for a position in the Grants Associate Program, a management internship for research scientists moving into administration. After that, she was an Executive Secretary in the Special Review Section of the Division of Research Grants at the NIH for 6 years, the Scientific Review Administrator (SRA) of the Genome Study Section for 12 years and the SRA of the Mammalian Genetics Study Section for 2 years. In addition, she was the SRO for the Ethical, Legal, and Social Implications of Human Genetics Study Section for 20 years.
