Dr. Xiang-Ning Li is a Scientific Review Officer in the Surgery, Biomedical Imaging and Bioengineering Integrated Review Group. He is experienced with medical imaging product R & D, diagnostic ultrasound imaging, Doppler flow quantification, clinical research, and echocardiography.
He is technically capable of computer programming, image segmentation and processing, computer graphics and quantification algorithms. Prior to joining CSR, he worked as a scientist and senior system engineer in one of the largest ultrasound companies devoted to the development of three-dimensional acquisition and image optimization for an ultrasound system (IU-22). He has filed 12 U.S. patents in the areas of 3D image acquisition and flow quantification. Additionally, he collaborated with a number of clinical research sites and was involved in training for a joint venture on ultrasound imaging, production operation, and quality control. He co-authored more than 60 articles and conference abstracts in medical and engineering journals. Dr. Li received his Ph.D. degree from the University of Washington in 1998. He worked as a postdoctorial research associate at Oregon Health & Sciences University. He was a trained cardiologist in China, with a specialty in echocardiography.
