Dr. Carol Hamelink serves as the Scientific Review Officer for CSR’s Neural Oxidative Metabolism and cell Death study section.

Dr. Hamelink received her Ph.D. in nutrition from the University of Maryland College Park. Her research there focused on the neurodegenerative effects of alcohol consumption on the hippocampus. Subsequently, she was a postdoctoral research fellow at the National Institute of Mental Health, where she worked in the Laboratory of Cellular and Molecular Regulation studying the protective effects of pituitary adenylate cyclase activating polypeptide (PACAP) in pathophysiological stress.
