Dr. Joanne Fujii is the Scientific Review Officer of the Neural Differentiation, Plasticity, and Regeneration study section (NDPR) as well as a referral officer in the Division of Receipt and Referral.

As a member of the MDCN IRG, she also organizes special emphasis panels and has been responsible for fellowship reviews. Other CSR activities have included work with the former CSR Advisory Committee on recruiting reviewers and re-defining study section service, membership on the Training Committee, and participation in CSR outreach activities, such as design of a CSR Internet site to explain peer review. Prior to joining CSR, Dr. Fujii was a faculty member in the Department of Anatomy at Wayne State University School of Medicine and conducted research in developmental neuroscience, supported by both NIH and NSF. She received a Ph.D. in anatomy and mammalian development from the University of California San Francisco, studied neuroscience at Woods Hole, and trained as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of California San Diego and the University of Colorado Health Sciences Center in Denver.
