Dr. Zou completed his training as a physician at the Tongji Medical University in China and received his Ph.D. in physiology at the Heidelberg University, Germany. Before coming to CSR, he was an associate professor of physiology and the principal investigator of two active NIH R01 grants in the Department of Physiology, Medical College of Wisconsin, studying transcriptional mechanisms mediating the renal regulation of arterial blood pressure and end-stage renal disease associated with hypertension and hyperhomocysteinemia.
