Dr. Soheyla Saadi is the Scientific Review Officer (SRO) for the Clinical Research and Field Studies of Infectious Diseases Study Section.
She received her Ph.D. in microbiology from New York University School of Medicine and went to Columbia University for postdoctoral training where she continued her studies on regulation of DNA replication in plasmids associated with antibiotic resistance and pathogenic bacteria. She then went to Duke University, where she became assistant professor, and initiated studies on pro-coagulant and pro-inflammatory properties of endothelium in response to antibody-mediated complement activation. Before coming to NIH, Dr. Saadi was an assistant professor at the Mayo Clinic, where she focused on the role of humoral immunity and inflammation on the rejection of vascularized organ grafts.
