Ms. Melinda Bennett is the Director of CSR’s Scientific Review Evaluation Activity Management and Service Center (SREA). It is a centralized service center for all of NIH that is responsible for managing and evaluating costs associated with NIH peer review. Ms. Bennett oversees a staff of 23 which coordinates and processes reviewer honorariums and reimbursements and hotel contracts and invoices related to review meetings. Her staff also provides customer service for navigating program policies and for problem resolution. In addition, SREA provides oversight of the Hotel Blanket Purchase Agreements for Peer Review and the Non-Federal Travel contract. Before coming to CSR, Ms. Bennett served as the animal program coordinator and network administrator for the National Eye Institute’s (NEI) animal facility in building 49. She also served as the executive secretary for the NEI Animal Care and Use Committee and as the institute authorizing official for approving NEI animal orders. Ms. Bennett’s educational background is in business and computer information systems. She is a certified data communications specialist and Microsoft network administrator.
