Dr. Craig Giroux is the Scientific Review Officer for CSR’s Modeling and Analysis of Biological Systems Study Section.

After receiving his Ph.D. in biophysics from MIT, he received postdoctoral training in cellular and molecular genetics at the University of Chicago. As a research geneticist at NIEHS/ NIH, he developed a research program that integrated classical and molecular genetic analysis with biophysical cytology to investigate fundamental processes of conserved chromosome biology during meiotic differentiation. Subsequently, as a faculty member at the Wayne State School of Medicine, Dr. Giroux extended his studies in quantitative biology to systems level interrogation of cellular responses to environmental stress and to genotype -– environment interactions in cancer cell models. Prior to joining CSR, he served he served as the Director of Systems and Computational Biology at the Karmanos Cancer Institute in Detroit.
