Dr. Greg Shelness serves as the Scientific Review Officer for CSR’s Integrative Nutrition and Metabolic Processes (INMP) Study Section.

After receiving his Ph.D. in pharmacology in the laboratory of the late Dr. David L. Williams, at the State University of New York at Stony Brook, Dr. Shelness completed post-doctoral training with Dr. Günter Blobel at The Rockefeller University in New York City. He then joined the Faculty of Wake Forest School of Medicine in Winston-Salem, NC, where he established his own research laboratory to study hepatic lipid metabolism, with a particular focus on the evolution and mechanisms of intracellular lipoprotein assembly and transport. Dr. Shelness has considerable experience in the area of peer review, including service as a member of the NIH Cellular Aspects of Diabetes and Obesity Study Section. Dr. Shelness left Wake Forest at the rank of professor to join CSR.
