Dr. Ileana Hancu is the Scientific Review Officer for the Imaging Guided Interventions and Surgery Study Section in the Surgical Sciences, Biomedical Imaging, and Bioengineering Integrated Review Group. She received her Ph.D. in magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) from University of Pittsburgh. Before joining CSR, Dr. Hancu served as a senior/principal scientist at GE’s Global Research Center for 17 years. With GE internal funding and multiple NIH grants, she pursued research in the areas of magnetic resonance spectroscopy, parallel transmit, chemical exchange saturation transfer and improving breast MRI and MRI-guided breast biopsies. She also served as a charter member of CSR’s Biomedical Imaging Technology B Study Section.
