Dr. Guoqin Yu received her Ph.D. in ecology, evolution and population biology from Washington University in St. Louis, where she studied the genetic diversity of starch synthesis pathway in wild and cultivated rice and the genetic basis of starch quality diversity. She then pursued postdoctoral training in bioinformatics at University of Maryland and in molecular cancer epidemiology at National Cancer Institute. Before joining CSR, she was an assistant professor at University of Kansas Medical Center. Her research on the role of microbiota in gastric carcinogenesis was funded by the V Foundation for Cancer Research and American Cancer Society.
