Dr. Ahlishia Shipley earned her Ph.D. in family studies from the University of Kentucky where her research focused on relationship socialization processes among college students. She also worked on statewide and national initiatives focused on marriage and relationship education. Dr. Shipley has served as an adjunct faculty member at George Mason University, University of Maryland Global Campus, and Eastern Kentucky University. Dr. Shipley previously served as a National Program Leader in the United States Department of Agriculture’s National Institute of Food and Agriculture, providing national program leadership and funding administration for research, education, and extension in the areas of family life and human development, health and wellness, community development and education.
