Dr. Catherine Maulsby is a social and behavioral scientist who received her M.P.H. and Ph.D. from Johns Hopkins Bloomberg School of Public Health (JHSPH). Before joining CSR, Dr. Maulsby was an associate scientist with the Department of Health, Behavior and Society, JHSPH. Her research aimed to eliminate disparities in access to health care with a focus on HIV care. Her research was concentrated in two areas: understanding the mechanisms through which social determinant of health act as barriers to care and developing and testing the implementation of interventions to improve access to HIV care. Dr. Maulsby was a PI or co-investigator on multiple NIH grants. Dr. Maulsby taught research methods courses at JHSPH and employed a range of quantitative and qualitative research methods, including network analysis, cost analysis, cost effectiveness analysis, case studies, and in-depth interviews, to investigate complex questions about society, behavior, and health.
