Dr. Heidi Friedman received her Ph.D. in epidemiology from the Johns Hopkins School of Hygiene and Public Health. Dr. Friedman began her career at NIH working on the epidemiology of AIDS in the Epidemiology and Biometry Branch of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID). She subsequently taught epidemiology and conducted research on the epidemiology of sexually transmitted and other infectious diseases as a faculty member in the Department of Preventive Medicine at the Uniformed Services University of the Health Sciences (USU). In addition, she led an international team developing and presenting educational programs to build research ethics capacity in Latin America. Dr. Friedman returned to NIH and served as a program officer in NIAID’s Sexually Transmitted Infections Branch before joining CSR.
