Dr. Melinda Harrison Krick received her Ph.D. in chemistry from Duquesne University, where she studied heavy metal-binding proteins using quantum and molecular modeling and spectroscopic techniques. Dr. Krick then studied biosensors at the University of Bern, Switzerland. Prior to joining CSR, she was a tenured full professor and department chair at Villanova University-Cabrini Campus, where she taught intro chemistry, biochemistry, instrumental, and bioinformatics courses for 16 years. Additionally, she ran an undergraduate and graduate research lab where her research group focused on functional studies of bacteriophage proteins and bioinformatics projects. Dr. Krick was a faculty fellow with the Howard Hughes Medical Institute (HHMI) Science Education Alliance-Phage Hunters Advancing Genomics and Evolutionary Science Program (SEA-PHAGES) and has received funding from HHMI, the NSF, and multiple private foundations. Dr. Krick has also worked as a compliance consultant for small businesses for over 15 years.
