Dr. Lisa Lewis received her Ph.D. in microbiology from the State University of New York at Buffalo, where her work focused on microbial iron acquisition systems. She completed postdoctoral training at the University of Oklahoma Health Sciences Center in gene regulation and microbial genomics. Prior to joining CSR, Dr. Lewis was an Associate Professor of Medicine in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Immunology at the University of Massachusetts Chan Medical School, where her research focused on complement biology, immune evasion, and vaccine and therapeutic development for Neisseria gonorrhoeae and Neisseria meningitidis. Her laboratory integrated molecular biology, immunology, and genomics to advance mRNA- and DNA-based therapeutics and vaccines. She served as a principal investigator on numerous NIH- and industry-funded grants and mentored over 30 trainees across career stages.
