Dr. Marci Scidmore received her Ph.D. in molecular biology from Princeton University. After her postdoctoral training at the Rocky Mountain Laboratories at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) studying host-pathogen interactions of Chlamydia, she continued her NIH-funded research on bacterial pathogenesis as a tenured faculty member in the Department of Microbiology and Immunology at the Cornell Veterinary School of Medicine in Ithaca, NY. During that time, she mentored graduate students and postdoctoral fellows, taught courses in microbial pathogenesis and infectious diseases for undergraduates and PhD and DVM students, and served on NIH study sections. Prior to CSR, she was a scientific review officer (SRO) and acting deputy chief in the Microbiology Review Branch at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
