Dr. Zhuqing Li received a Ph.D. in microbiology and immunology from the Medical University of Ohio, Toledo, Ohio. Following postdoctoral training at the National Cancer Institute (NCI), Dr. Li joined the National Eye Institute (NEI) as a staff scientist and then the head of the Clinical Immunology Section of the Laboratory of Immunology, where he led translational research to support clinical trials in NEI clinics, as well as basic research on molecular mechanisms of human non-inflammatory uveitis applying genomic profiling and transgenic approaches. Prior to joining CSR, Dr. Li served on the Designated Federal Officials of Chartered Committees and Special Emphasis Panels in the Scientific Review Program of the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), where Dr. Li managed peer review meetings for both grant applications and contract proposals.
