Dr. Joanna Kubler-Kielb earned her M.Sc. Eng. in biotechnology from Wrocław University of Science and Technology in Poland. She received her Ph.D. in glycobiology and later a D.Sc. for independent research in vaccine development from the Ludwik Hirszfeld Institute of Immunology and Experimental Therapy of the Polish Academy of Sciences. Dr. Kubler-Kielb completed her postdoctoral training in the Laboratory of Developmental and Molecular Immunity within the Division of Intramural Research at the Eunice Kennedy Shriver National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD). She subsequently continued at the National Institute of Child Health and Human Development (NICHD) as a staff scientist, where her research focused on the structural design and immunological properties of pediatric antimicrobial subunit vaccines aimed at preventing bacterial, viral, and parasitic infections. Her contributions in this area were recognized with a Young Investigator Award from the American Society for Microbiology. Before joining the CSR, Dr. Kubler-Kielb served for more than a decade as a scientific review officer and later as chief of the NICHD Scientific Review Branch (SRB). She is the lead inventor on multiple patents and the author of numerous peer-reviewed publications, review articles, and book chapters.
