Dr. Jennifer Meyers earned her Ph.D. in immunology from Harvard Medical School, focusing on autoimmunity, and then completed a postdoctoral fellowship at NIAID in the Laboratory of Immunoregulation, studying immune responses to HIV infection. She then served as science manager at The American Association of Immunologists, where she managed the peer review process of The Journal of Immunology and the scientific program of the AAI Annual Meeting for 10 years. From AAI, she joined the NIAID Scientific Review Program, where she served as scientific review officer, deputy chief of the Immunology Review Branch, and then deputy director of the program. During this time, she managed numerous high-impact reviews, led the development of peer review systems used across NIH and ARPA-H, and led a large review program that efficiently oversaw a broad variety of complex grant and contract reviews based on central tenets of best practices, innovation, leadership, and teamwork and scientific collaboration.
