Dr. David Ransom received his Ph.D. in cell and developmental biology from the University of Virginia. He then obtained postdoctoral training in genetics at Harvard University. Dr. Ransom next took a faculty position in the Department of Cell and Developmental Biology at the Oregon Health and Science University. He studied the transcriptional regulation of blood cell development and leukemia, using zebrafish as a model system, with support from the NIH and the American Cancer Society. He was also a laboratory director at a biotechnology company, Znomics, focusing on the discovery of new drug targets and therapeutics. Prior to joining CSR, Dr. Ransom was a scientific review officer and chief of the Special Review Branch at the National Cancer Institute (NCI).
