Dr. Anuja Mathew earned her Ph.D. in immunology and virology from the University of Massachusetts Medical School (UMMS), where she studied T cell immune responses to dengue virus infections, and then completed a postdoctoral research fellowship at the Massachusetts General Hospital studying chemokine responses in a murine model of allergic asthma. She returned to UMMS as a faculty member at the Center for Infectious Disease and Vaccine Research and later in the Division of Infectious Diseases and Immunology for eleven years and then moved to the University of Rhode Island. Dr. Mathew’s scientific expertise includes assessing T, B, and NK cell immune responses to dengue, Zika, vaccinia, and SARS-CoV-2 viruses in humans and in animal models. During this time, she participated actively as a reviewer on special emphasis panels at NIH/NIAID and the Department of Defense. Prior to joining CSR, Dr. Mathew served as a scientific review officer in the Immunology Review Branch at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID).
