Dr. Shuli Xia received her Ph.D. in biology from Johannes Gutenberg University in Mainz, Germany. She completed her postdoctoral training at Washington University School of Medicine in St. Louis and Yale University School of Medicine. At the Johns Hopkins School of Medicine, Dr. Xia began her career in cancer research—first as an instructor and later as a tenure-track faculty member in the Department of Neurology. Her research focuses on uncovering the genetic and epigenetic mechanisms of brain tumor migration, exploring how malignant brain tumors interact with their microenvironment, and developing novel anti-tumor therapies. During her tenure, Dr. Xia published cancer research in peer-reviewed journals, secured independent grant funding, served on NIH study sections, and mentored both undergraduate and graduate students in cancer research.
