Dr. Cynthia Anderson received her Ph.D. in cell and molecular biology from the University of Hawaii (UH) and completed her postdoctoral training at the UH Center for Cardiovascular Research. Her research background is in cardiovascular biology with a focus on advancing therapeutic ultrasound technologies and gene therapies for cardiovascular and hematological-related diseases. She was the recipient of predoctoral and postdoctoral fellowships from the American Heart Association, has presented her research at national conferences, and served as a reviewer for several scientific journals. Dr. Anderson also received a master’s degree in science education from the University of Rhode Island and was an assistant teaching professor in the Department of Biology at Georgetown University, where she taught undergraduate biology and science education courses. Before joining CSR, she was a scientific review officer at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI).
