This panel reviews patient centered behavioral interventions aimed at managing and treating cancer, and its treatment-related symptoms to improve clinical recovery trajectories. Treatment approaches may include pharmacotherapies and other targeted therapies guided by cancer, type, stage, and patient’s health. Applications will also include studies of cancer-related treatment for cancer survivors. Applications may include (but are not limited to) technology-mediated approaches, early detection treatment practices, and adherence to cancer treatment regimens. Cancer treatment effects on the physical, psychological, social burden of cancer including for survivors of cancer and their families (e.g., mental health, social functioning, caregiver well-being and adaptation) are also included. All applications are in human populations. Applications proposing imaging and molecular biomarker approaches are not included. Applications proposing cellular, molecular, genetic, and physiological treatment approaches are not included. Applications proposing to increase access, use, reach, adoption, and implementation of cancer services are not included.
