This special emphasis panel reviews fellowships related to the function, physiology and pathophysiology of the digestive system, including digestive diseases and inflammatory conditions, mucosal immunology and host-pathogen interactions in the context of digestive disease, the microbiome, GI motility, brain-gut interactions, nutrition including nutrient adsorption and metabolism, the exocrine pancreas and pancreatic disease, liver and hepatobiliary physiology and pathophysiology.
