Dr. Aster Juan received her Ph.D. in developmental biology from Yale University and completed her postdoctoral training at the National Institute of Arthritis and Musculoskeletal and Skin Diseases (NIAMS). She later became a staff scientist at NIAMS and was involved in mentoring PhD students and postdoctoral fellows. Dr. Juan’s research focused on how chromatin modifying factors and non-coding RNAs/microRNAs control fate commitment of embryonic and skeletal muscle stem cells. She currently works within CSR as a scientific review officer where she manages peer review panels in the Kidney, Urology, and Digestive Systems Branch. Dr. Juan also serves as a member of the CSR early career reviewer (ECR) vetting committee.
