Dr. Sung-Wook Jang received his Ph.D. in Cellular and Molecular Biology from University of Wisconsin-Madison with his interest in Schwann cell myelination whose defects are known to be associated with many human diseases including Charcot-Marie-Tooth disease. Subsequently, Dr. Jang had postdoctoral training in the field of translational sciences at the National Center for Advancing Translational Sciences (NCATS) at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) where he developed and utilized multiple assays to run high-throughput phenotypic and target-based screening campaigns for drug discovery. Prior to joining CSR, Dr. Jang served as a Science Director at CHDI Foundation, a not-for-profit research organization for Huntington’s disease (HD), where he led and promoted therapeutic HD research with a particular focus on gene regulation as well as cell-based disease models in collaboration with academic and industry partners.
