Dr. DeAnna Bublitz received her Ph.D. in microbiology and molecular genetics from Stony Brook University. She then trained as a postdoctoral fellow at the Rocky Mountain Laboratories (NIAID/NIH) studying intracellular pathogens. Later as a staff scientist at the University of Montana she studied the evolution of insect symbionts and how that might inform our understanding of how mitochondria and chloroplasts evolved billions of years ago. Prior to joining CSR, Dr. Bublitz took a faculty position as a research assistant professor at the University of Montana investigating bacteriophages for use in therapeutic and preventative treatments of bacterial infections.
