Dr. Vivian Tang holds a B.A. from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Ph.D. from the University of California, San Francisco. After obtaining her degrees, she received postdoctoral training at the Harvard Medical School. Before joining CSR, Dr. Tang was a research assistant professor and was serving as the co-director of renal at Carle Illinois College of Medicine at the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign. She was the recipient of an NIH research career award and an NIH R01 research project grant. Dr. Tang’s research has linked epithelial cell junctions and mechanobiology to the actin cytoskeleton. She had been invited to speak about her work at national and international conferences as well as to serve as a grant reviewer for the DoD and the German Research Foundation. Dr. Tang was a recipient of an IMPACT AWARD from the University of Illinois, Urbana-Champaign, for her efforts in research education.
