As Branch Chief for the Scientific Review Evaluation Activities (SREA) Branch, Mr. Wheat has oversight of the organization responsible for managing the review meeting hotel contracts, non-Federal traveler contract, and reviewer reimbursement. Each and every one of these activities make review meetings possible for CSR and the 23 Institutes that SREA supports. Mr. Wheat first came to NIH as a CRTA Research Fellow in the Radiation Biology Branch at NCI. He took a position at the University of Virginia and served as a Special Operations medic in 3/75 Ranger Regiment before returning to NIH as a Biologist in Research Technology Branch in NIAID. He took positions as a Program Specialist and Administrative Officer at NIMH and NINDS, respectively, before joining CSR. Mr. Wheat received his B.S. in biochemistry at Virginia Polytechnic and State University.
