Dr. Raquel Velazquez-Kronen earned her Ph.D. in epidemiology from the University at Buffalo, State University of New York. She completed a predoctoral fellowship at the National Cancer Institute, where she evaluated health risks associated with occupational radiation exposures. Prior to joining CSR, she was a research epidemiologist at the National Institute for Occupational Safety and Health, Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), where her work focused on assessing chronic disease risks associated with sleep and shiftwork. While at the CDC, she also served on multiple national emergency responses. Additionally, Dr. Velazquez-Kronen served as a co-coordinator for the National Occupational Research Agenda (NORA) Cancer, Reproductive, Cardiovascular, and Other Chronic Disease Prevention (CRC) Cross-Sector Council, which aims at preventing work-related chronic diseases.
