Dr. Charlene Repique received her Ph.D. in biomedical science from Northeastern University, where she studied melanoma cell integrin-extracellular matrix interactions. She obtained postdoctoral training in preclinical development of DNA-based tuberculosis vaccines at the U.S. Food and Drug Administration (FDA) Center for Biologics Evaluation and Research. She has managed prostate cancer and breast cancer research grant portfolios for the Department of Defense (DOD) and Susan G. Komen and served as a scientific review officer (SRO) for the DOD and for Komen. She went on to serve as the U.S. President’s Emergency Plan for AIDS Relief (PEPFAR) Small Grants Coordinator in Lusaka, Zambia. Prior to joining CSR, she served as the SRO for the National Institute of Diabetes and Digestive and Kidney Diseases (NIDDK) Chartered B Study Section, which reviewed career development award and institutional training grant applications in the areas of diabetes, endocrinology, and metabolic diseases.
