Dr. Jason Hoffert received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the Johns Hopkins University School of Medicine. He obtained post-doctoral training in renal salt and water transport at the National Heart, Lung, and Blood Institute (NHLBI) in the Laboratory of Kidney and Electrolyte Metabolism. For 12 years, he served as a staff scientist at the NHLBI, where he conducted research utilizing proteomics, mass spectrometry, bioinformatics, and systems biology to understand the signaling pathways that regulate kidney development and function. Prior to joining CSR, he served as the scientific review officer for the Chartered NIH-NIDDK Kidney, Urologic, and Hematologic Diseases D Study Section, which was charged with reviewing career development and institutional training grant applications in various areas, including nephrology, urology, and benign hematology.
