To advise CSR on changes in language of the fellowship review criteria that would ensure the most fair, objective and rigorous assessment of the candidate and his/her potential to become a well-trained, strong scientist to address our nation’s biomedical, behavioral, and clinical research needs.

A working group was convened in 2019 to explore ways in which CSR might reduce the large backlog in the Early Career Reviewer database and to re-evaluate the criteria for the program. The working group met in July to discuss possible changes to the program and their report was considered by the CSR Advisory Council on September 23, 2019. The report summarizes the recommendations of the working group and the final recommendations made by CSR Advisory Council.
