Dr. James Li currently serves as the Scientific Review Officer for Nanotechnology (NANO) Study Section within the Bioengineering Sciences and Technologies Integrated Review Group. He previously managed scientific reviews relating to high throughput assays (NIH-MLPCN) and preclinical therapeutic development (NIH-RAID) applications at CSR. After receiving his Ph.D. degree in chemistry from University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign, he started his professional career as a senior medicinal chemist in pharmaceutical industry working on preclinical drug discovery programs involving pain management, anti-inflammatory, frailty prevention, diabetes and anti-obesity. Over the years, he has authored over 31 peer-reviewed publications and was also the inventor of 47 issued U.S. patents.
