Dr. Willard Wilson received his Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of Rochester, where he studied auditory neurophysiology. After postdoctoral training, he moved to industry, where he directed SBIR-funded research and development on hardware and software products for neurophysiology research. Major projects included chronically implantable microelectrode arrays and neural spike-sorting software. He then moved to the medical device industry, working with active implantable devices, and developing a reflex-based neuromodulation approach to obstructive sleep apnea. This was ultimately acquired by a strategic investor and is currently under development. Before joining CSR, Dr. Willard Wilson worked as a Director of Research in start-ups and small businesses on early-stage medical and scientific device development.
