Dr. Dmitri Gnatenko holds a Ph.D. degree in molecular biology from the Institute of Molecular Biology and Genetics of the National Academy of Sciences of Ukraine. His postdoctoral studies at the Division of Hematology of Stony Brook University’s School of Medicine focused on gene therapy approaches for hemophilia A utilizing recombinant adeno-associated virus and resulted in a U.S. Patent. Prior to joining CSR, Dr. Gnatenko served as a faculty member and the Director of the Genomics Core Facility at Stony Brook University. His research expertise includes molecular mechanisms of thrombocytosis, as well as gene expression profiling and epigenetic regulation in hepatocellular carcinoma. Dr. Gnatenko pioneered research in the field of platelet transcriptome by providing a first panoramic overview of mRNAs expressed in human platelets. Dr. Gnatenko reviewed grant applications for NIH and the Wellcome Trust (UK) he also taught graduate level courses in bioinformatics.
