Dr. Marcus Ferrone received his PharmD. degree in nuclear medicine/pharmacy from the University of Tennessee after completing his undergraduate and graduate studies in synthetic organometallic chemistry at Emory University. Dr. Ferrone completed his clinical residency at Columbus Regional Medical Center in Columbus, Georgia, and then was hired as a professor at the University of California, San Francisco. At the University of California he taught a spectrum of courses from pharmacology/pharmacokinetics to regulatory affairs/pharmacy law. He also pursued pre-clinical and clinical NIH-funded research in the arena of hyperpolarized molecular imaging/probe development and applications. Prior to joining CSR, Dr. Ferrone was the Service Chief for Clinical Pharmacy and Investigational Drug Research—overseeing the clinical care of patients and intramural research involving investigational drugs/devices at the NIH Clinical Center.
