Dr. Jewel Wright obtained her Ph.D. in public health with a specialization in epidemiology from Walden University. Moreover, she possesses dual master’s degrees in biology (neurobiology and behavior) from Georgia State University and public health (community health) from Walden University. Dr. Wright has held various roles within the federal government, serving as an agriculture specialist, project officer, and public health analyst. As such, she has conducted agricultural monitoring activities, provided oversight for primary healthcare programs, and supported preparedness and response initiatives. Dr. Wright has experience in academia, serving as an adjunct assistant professor and researcher in the biological sciences. Past laboratory research projects that she has supported focused on the behavioral and neurotoxicological consequences of prenatal stimulant exposure and the effects of neuropeptide administration on appetitive and consummatory behaviors. She also worked as a student in NCI’s Laboratory of Molecular Biology, focusing on regulatory mechanisms of gene expression in E. coli.
