Dr. Bogdanov obtained his Ph.D. in biomedical sciences in 1999 at the Graduate School of Biomedical Sciences, Mount Sinai School of Medicine / City University of New York, where he studied molecular and cellular mechanisms that contribute to vessel reocclusion following coronary angioplasty. After the completion of post-doctoral training in thrombosis and hemostasis followed by a mentored research-track faculty appointment at Mount Sinai, Dr. Bogdanov joined University of Cincinnati (UC) College of Medicine to lead a laboratory program at the interface of benign and malignant hematology, pancreatic cancer research, and erythrocyte pathobiology in chronic disease states. Prior to joining CSR, Dr. Bogdanov was an associate professor with tenure and the director of an NCI T32-supported postgraduate training program in the Division of Hematology/Oncology, UC College of Medicine. Dr. Bogdanov’s research was supported by R01 and R21 awards and grants from national research foundations; he co-authored over 50 research articles and served as Associate Editor, Thrombosis Research, from 2016 until 2024.
