Dr. Stephanie Hicks received her Ph.D. in biochemistry, cellular, and molecular biology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville. She completed her postdoctoral training at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill, in the Pharmacology Department, where she conducted structure-function studies aimed at understanding cell signaling through phospholipase C isozymes and regulation of these pathways by heterotrimeric G proteins and small GTPases. Prior to joining CSR, she was a senior researcher at the National Institute of Environmental Health Sciences (NIEHS), where she investigated the molecular mechanisms underlying post-transcriptional regulation of AU-rich mRNAs by a family of RNA-binding proteins belonging to the tristetraprolin (TTP) family, which is essential for regulating a variety of physiological processes, including immune response.
