Dr. Ivan Rebustini received his Ph.D. in biochemistry from the University of Sao Paulo and was a postdoctoral visiting fellow at the National Institute of Dental and Craniofacial Research (NIDCR), where he specialized in molecular, developmental, and regenerative biology. He joined Brigham and Women’s Hospital at Harvard Medical School to specialize in RNA biology and support the NIH-funded Systems Consortium for Organ Development and Engineering (SysCODE) Training Program. He worked with immunology and deep-sequencing methodologies at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID), hearing biology and super-resolution microscopy at the National Institute on Deafness and Other Communication Disorders (NIDCD), and retinal neurodegeneration and aging research at the National Eye Institute (NEI), where he also collaborated with the private sector on strategies to prevent age-related blindness. Prior to joining CSR, he worked as an SRO at the National Institute on Aging (NIA); he conducted reviews of research-type (R01, R63/33, R03, and R21), business-type (R41/42 and R43/44), multi-component-type (P01, U19), and training-type (R25, K awards) grant and contract applications. His broad scientific expertise also includes reviewing translational sciences and clinical and epidemiology grant applications.
