Dr. Konrad Krzewski received his Ph.D. in Biological Sciences and M.Sc. in Molecular Biology from the University of Gdansk, Poland, and did his postdoctoral work at Harvard University in the laboratory of Prof. Jack Strominger. Before joining CSR, Dr. Krzewski was a Staff Scientist at the National Institute of Allergy and Infectious Diseases (NIAID) and then a Scientific Review Officer and the Deputy Branch Chief of the Immunology Review Branch at the Scientific Review Program at NIAID. During his academic career, Dr. Krzewski had been investigating problems related to innate immunological responses and innate immune cell function in the pathophysiology of human immunodeficiencies and cancer; his work focused on regulation of the cytolytic activity of natural killer (NK) cells in anti-tumor responses and the pathology of rare human disorders with immunodeficiency, as well as the role of innate immune cell receptors in the control of inflammatory responses through regulation of apoptotic cell clearance and modulation of the activity of antigen-presenting cells.
