Dr. Jennifer Schiltz received a Ph.D. in neuroscience from the University of Pittsburgh and conducted postdoctoral training at the Laboratory of Neuronal Structure and Function at the Salk Institute in La Jolla, CA, where her NIH-funded work focused on the central circuitry involved in neuroendocrine responses to stress. Before joining NIH, Dr. Schiltz was an assistant professor in the Department of Anatomy, Physiology, and Genetics at the Uniformed Services University in Bethesda, MD, where she led a laboratory that examined immune-to-brain communication using neuroanatomical, physiological, and behavioral techniques in animal models and taught head/neck and neuroanatomy to medical and graduate students. At NIH, Dr. Schiltz has served as an assistant director within the Division of Receipt and Referral as well as a scientific review officer with the National Cancer Institute (NCI) and the National Eye Institute (NEI).
