Dr. Janetta Lun earned her Ph.D. in social psychology from the University of Virginia, where she conducted and published research on how our beliefs about others and the self are influenced by the surrounding context. She completed postdoctoral training at the University of Maryland, College Park, to further this research to the cultural and societal levels. Dr. Lun discovered her passion for public service while completing a year-long AAAS Science and Technology Policy Fellowship. She began her career at the National Institutes of Health (NIH) as a program analyst in the Office of the Director, where she worked on several initiatives for scientific workforce development. She was later promoted to oversee the reporting and analysis of demographic trends within the NIH workforce. Dr. Lun first joined CSR in 2021 as a scientific review officer and subsequently served as a section chief at the National Institute on Aging (NIA), Scientific Review Branch, prior to rejoining CSR.
