Review Branch Summary

The Social and Community Influences across the Lifecourse (SCIL) Review Branch is led by Dr. Elia Ortenberg. Applications appropriate for review in the SCIL study sections include studies that examine or identify social, interpersonal, community, and cultural influences on health, development, and well-being across the life span. Proposed studies cover a wide range of topics: Social development, group or community-level risk and protective factors, ethics, and community or population-level determinants of health. They also employ a wide range of study designs ranging from intervention studies in clinical trials, mixed methods approaches, longitudinal studies, and non-interventional study designs.
