Dr. Sindhu Kizhakke Madathil received a Ph.D. in neuroscience from the Indian Institute of Chemical Biology (IICB), Calcutta, India, where she focused on neuroprotective strategies for Parkinson’s disease in preclinical models. She then moved to the University of Kentucky, where she conducted postdoctoral research on the role of insulin-like growth factor-1 (IGF-1) in the pathophysiology of traumatic brain injury (TBI). Following this, she joined Walter Reed Army Institute of Research (WRAIR) as a research scientist and served as principal investigator on multiple Congressionally Directed Medical Research Program (CDMRP) funded projects. Her research centered on preclinical neurotrauma models and alternative drug delivery methods. Before transitioning to CSR, Dr. Madathil worked as a scientific review officer (SRO) at the National Institute on Drug Abuse (NIDA), where she managed the review of several high-impact grants and contracts, including career development and training grant applications.
