There are shared interests with Cell and Molecular Biology (BCTA (15)). Applications developing new cell-based technologies (including in vitro imaging) and assays may be assigned to BCTA (15). Applications integrating cells into biomaterial constructs and/or studying the integration of biomaterials into cellular environments may be assigned to BCTB (10). Tissue engineering and microphysiological systems (e.g. organ-on-a-chip) applications are the domain of BCTB (10).
There are shared interests with Radiation Therapy, Radiation Biology and Nanoparticle Based Therapeutics (TCO (11)) in nanoparticle-based therapeutics and drug delivery. Applications focused on nanoparticle-based therapeutics and drug delivery specific to cancer cells may be assigned to TCO (11). Applications focused on bioengineering approaches for therapy and drug delivery to cells, tissues or their environment unrelated to cancer may be assigned to BCTB (10).
There are shared interests with Cancer Biotherapeutics Development (CII (10)) in drug delivery platforms. Applications developing new biomaterials and/or their delivery to cancer cells may be assigned to CII (10). Applications focused on biomaterial constructs and delivery to cells, tissues or their environment unrelated to cancer may be assigned to BCTB (10).
There are shared interests with Advanced Therapeutics (ACT (10)) in drug delivery and gene therapy platforms. Applications focused on drug delivery to and gene therapy specifically for cancer cells may be assigned to ACT (10). Applications focused on bioengineering approaches for therapy and drug delivery to cells, tissues or their environment unrelated to cancer may be assigned to BCTB (10).
There are shared interests with Musculoskeletal and Oral Sciences (MSOS (10)) in the areas of biomaterials, drug delivery, wound healing and tissue engineering. Applications focusing on the use of biomaterials and tissue scaffolds for treatment of skeletal muscle disorders, oral and dental disease, and healing of chronic and diabetic skin wounds are reviewed in MSOS (10). Applications focusing on the design and development of biomaterials, scaffolds and drug delivery systems are reviewed in BCTB (10).
There are shared interests with Respiratory Sciences (RCCS (11)) in topics related to gene and cell therapy, including strategies of tissue engineering and repair and gene/drug delivery. Applications which utilize newly developed or established strategies in the context of investigating pulmonary and respiratory systems may be reviewed in RCCS-11. Applications which emphasize the development of novel biomaterial systems that are broadly applicable may be reviewed in BCTB (10).
