Dr. Steven Frenk came to CSR after serving as an epidemiologist at CDC’s National Center for Health Statistics where he managed the questionnaires of the National Health and Nutrition Examination Study (NHANES). While at CDC, he also served as an advisor for the National Death Index and as a contractor officer’s representative for the NHANES Biospecimen Program. His research agenda focused on prescription medication use in the U.S. and resulted in several publications on prescription opioid analgesic use and prescription antibiotic use. In 2016, Dr. Frenk received a NCHS merit award for his contribution to the NHANES program. Dr. Frenk earned his M.A. and Ph.D. from Duke University. He then served as a postdoctoral research associate with a joint appointment at the Carolina Population Center and the University of North Carolina’s Lineberger Comprehensive Cancer Center where his research focused on quantitative methods and cancer epidemiology. Dr. Frenk is certified as a Project Management Professional by the Project Management Institute.
